Yamagakure (木ノ葉隠れの里, Yamagakure no Sato, lit meaning=Village Hidden Among The Mountains, also known as "Village Hidden in the Mountains" or "Hidden Mountain Village"), is one of the six great ninja villages. As such, it is one of six villages with a Kage as its leader, known as the Yamakage.
Although Yamagakure, much like the country in which it resides, has been peaceful but, it remains one of the most powerful villages in existence, with an overall ninja population much greater than that of most other village, and therefore has great military power and influence. In the Chunin exam, out of all 177 Genin participants, Yamagakure had 90 Mountain Genin trying to become Chunin, whereas all other ninja villages had considerably fewer participating: 30 Sunagakure Genin, 21 Amegakure Genin, 6 Kusagakure Genin , 6 Takigakure Genin , and 5 Otogakure Genin Seireitou's followers, and 56 Konoha Genin. However, Yamagakure is the village that hosted the event, which possibly contributed to the unbalanced number of participants.
History[]
Creation[]
A village founded by Ryun Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha, and Sasuke Uchiha. It is located in the Land of Mountains and was founded to be a safe haven for the "new" Uchiha Clan. Like Orochimaru's Sound Village, it is made up of mostly missing-nins. Itachi Uchiha is the first Yamakage and is the new leader of the Uchiha Clan. Five months after the village is established, Itachi steps down as Yamakage and offers Ryun the job. Ryun refuses and says mabey some other time. He then gives the job to Gokuto Tsurugi who accepts. Gokuto establishes an ANBU Black Ops and an Academy.
Revival of Uchiha[]
After Itachi steps down, Ryun decides to revive the Uchiha Clan. He marries Jessica Yama of the Yama Clan and then forms the Uchiha Clan II. Itachi also marries, his wife is named Rin "Tsurugi" Uchiha, Gokuto's daughter. Ten years go by and both have sons, Ryun's son Luke Uchiha and Itachi's son, Seireitou Uchiha.
War with Chikagakure[]

It is located on the Mountain Country's most western border. Sasuke chose this location, because if Konoha ever attacked they would be well defended by the terrain.
