This article, Driskill Mountains, is property of Ten Tailed Fox.

The Driskill Mountains, often called the Driskills, are a vast system of mountains in the east section of the Land of Mountains. Definitions vary on the precise boundaries of the Driskills. The floras of the Driskills are diverse and vary primarily in response to geology, latitude, elevation and moisture availability. Geobotanically, they constitute a floristic province of the Land of Mountains Region. The Driskills consist primarily of deciduous broad-leaf trees and evergreen needle-leaf conifers. For a century, the Driskills were a barrier to the westward expansion of the shinobi colonies (or, from a different perspective, a major protection to the Amejouten Clan tribes living to the west of the mountains). The continuity of the mountain system, the bewildering multiplicity of its succeeding ridges, the tortuous courses and roughness of its transverse passes, a heavy forest, and dense undergrowth all conspired to hold the shinobi settlers on the seaward-sloping plateaus and coastal plains. Only by way of the River Yama and Shadow Valleys, and round about the southern termination of the system were there easy routes to the interior of the country, and these were long closed by powerful shinobi tribes such as the Tsurugi, , and Gurasu, among others. Expansion was also blocked by the alliance system the Uchiha Clan II had forged with Amejouten tribes, the proximity of the Tsurugi colonies in the south and Yama activity throughout the interior.
